Check multilingual releases before users land on the wrong language version. Give audit_hreflang a public HTTPS page; it reads the HTML head and visits up to five linked language alternates.
Returns each annotation, page-level findings and whether each checked alternate links back to the seed. Flags missing self-reference, duplicate language annotations, relative URLs, basic language-code formatting issues, noindex and canonical URLs pointing elsewhere.
Public pages only; obeys robots.txt, blocks private networks and pins validated DNS. Redirects are reported without following. Failed or skipped pages and coverage limits are explicitly marked incomplete.
Static HTML only: no JavaScript, HTTP Link headers, sitemap hreflang, full ISO language registry checks or Google index-status checks. Up to six pages per audit, 1 MiB per HTML page and a 25-second network budget.
