QRKit - QR Code, Wi-Fi QR, vCard & Barcode Generator

QRKit is an HTTP API and Model-Context-Protocol (MCP) server for generating scannable codes and barcodes over a single round-trip. Point it at a URL, a Wi-Fi network, a contact card or a string of digits and QRKit returns a finished, ready-to-display image - no local libraries, no server-side installs.

What QRKit does

QRKit exposes four tools, each a single HTTP call that returns a rendered image:

  • qrkit_qr - Encode any text or URL (up to 2,000 characters) as a QR code. Choose PNG, SVG or base64-encoded JSON, and configure output size, quiet margin and error-correction level (L, M, Q or H). Foreground and background accept hex colour values (without the leading hash; use the literal word transparent for a clear background), so QR codes can be tuned to match a page or a print layout.

  • qrkit_qr_wifi - Produce a QR code that, when scanned by a smartphone, connects it to a Wi-Fi network. Provide the SSID, password and encryption type and QRKit renders the encoded network profile as a scannable QR image, the same way a Wi-Fi QR sticker works.

  • qrkit_qr_vcard - Turn a contact into a scannable vCard QR code. Supply name, phone, email and other vCard fields and QRKit returns a QR image that mobile phones and contact apps read into an address-book entry.

  • qrkit_barcode - Generate 1D retail and logistics barcodes from a digit string. Supported symbologies include Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and ISBN - suitable for shelf labels, shipping marks, ticket stock and inventory tags. Each call returns the rendered barcode image.

How it works

All four tools run server-side; clients receive a finished image and need no image-processing stack of their own. Pick a tool, pass the payload it describes (text, network credentials, vCard fields or a number string) and any available options, and the image is returned in a data payload.
