Viral Radar — cross-platform viral content finder
Find what's taking off across the internet from one place. Viral Radar searches Reddit, Hacker News, and X/Twitter, then ranks every result with a single, comparable virality score (0–100) so a Reddit upvote surge, a Hacker News front-page story, and a viral tweet can be compared on the same scale.
Read-only. It never posts, replies, or modifies anything — a pure research and intelligence tool.
Tools
- find_viral_by_topic — top viral posts on a topic across all platforms, as one ranked list
- get_trending_now — what's trending right now on a single platform
- score_virality — compute the 0–100 virality score for any post
- compare_platforms — see where a topic is hottest (post count, peak and average virality)
- analyze_post — fetch and score a single Reddit or Hacker News post
How the score works
The score blends velocity (engagement per hour), total weighted engagement, and recency (≈1-day half-life), log-squashed so results stay comparable across platforms.
API keys
Reddit and Hacker News work with no setup and no key. The X/Twitter tools require your own twitterapi.io API key — each subscriber brings their own key, so you're never charged for anyone else's X usage. Without a key, the server still works fully for Reddit and Hacker News and simply skips X results.
