Japanese addresses are hard for software: no street names, full-width numbers, many dash styles, kanji numerals, and a large-to-small order that is the reverse of Western addresses. This server turns them into clean, structured data your agent can use.
What you can do
- Normalize a Japanese address into prefecture, city, town, block (e.g. 1-9-1) and building, with a confidence score and candidate towns when ambiguous.
- Convert a Japanese address into an international shipping label (e.g. "2-8-1 Nishishinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0023, JAPAN").
- Look up any Japanese postal code (7 digits) in Japanese and romaji.
- Check whether a date is a business day in Japan, add business days that skip national holidays (Golden Week etc.), and list all holidays for a year.
Why this server
- Fast and deterministic: no external API calls at runtime.
- Built on Japan Post's official postal code data (refreshed monthly). Holidays are computed from Japan's Act on National Holidays (2007-2099).
- Returns warnings and candidates instead of guessing silently.
Limits
- Romaji follows Japan Post's official data, which omits some long vowels (e.g. Marunochi).
- Building names are not romanized.
