Reddit search with exact date ranges and strict matching, whole comment threads with every "load more" expanded, and archived posts and comments back to 2008, for your AI agent, with no Reddit app, OAuth key or login. Five tools cover what agents ask for most: what a subreddit is talking about, what people say about a topic, what the comments under a post say, what a user posts, and what a community said years ago.

Tools

  • get_subreddit_posts: live posts of 1-5 subreddits in hot, new, top, rising or controversial order, with an optional date range (read past Reddit's ~950-post list end when the range needs it).
  • search_reddit: posts for 1-5 queries across all of Reddit or inside subreddits, with an exact date range, NSFW on request, and strict_match to drop the loosely related posts Reddit's search mixes in.
  • get_post_comments: whole comment threads of up to 10 post links, with "load more comments" and "continue this thread" expanded, in thread order.
  • get_user_posts: a user's posts, newest or top.
  • get_reddit_archive: posts and comments of 1-5 subreddits inside a UTC date window back to 2008, from the PullPush and Arctic Shift archives.

Example prompts

  • "What were the top r/Python posts this week, and what do the comments under the top one say?"
  • "Find r/LocalLLaMA posts that mention 'vector database' since August, exact phrase only."
  • "Collect r/Python posts from January 2024 with their top comments for my RAG index."
  • "What has u/spez posted recently?"

A real result, shortened (search_reddit, 'vector database' in r/LocalLLaMA, strict match, run on 2026-10-27)

type: post, id: 1wwn7xf, subreddit: LocalLLaMA, score: 15, created_utc: 2026-10-03T13:25:29, title: "Replacing vector databases with SQLite and SIMD hypervectors in under 1.2GB VRAM (Hillock)", plus selftext, author, permalink, url, num_comments, flair and flags.

Limits

  • At most 5 subreddits or queries and 50 rows per call; comments up to 10 posts and 200 rows; archive up to 100 posts (10 with comments).
  • Archive coverage depends on the public PullPush and Arctic Shift archives; a call errors instead of handing back quietly partial data.
  • Typical call time: 3 to 60 seconds. For bigger pulls, run the Apify actors directly: https://apify.com/benthepythondev/reddit-scraper

FAQ

Do I need a Reddit API key or login? No. You connect with your MCPize key only; no Reddit app, OAuth key or cookies.

Can I get more than Reddit's ~1,000 newest posts? Yes. Use date ranges in get_subreddit_posts and search_reddit, or get_reddit_archive, which reaches back to 2008 for large subreddits. Archive coverage varies by subreddit.

Does it replace subreddit RSS after November 13? For reading new posts, yes: Reddit ends RSS feeds on 13 November 2026 with no replacement. Ask your agent to call get_subreddit_posts with sort new and a date window on a schedule (for example, "posts from r/Python since yesterday").

What does a call return and how long does it take? Rows of posts or comments, each with a type, id, author, subreddit, score, created time, permalink, url and text. A call takes 3 to 60 seconds.

What happens when the archive is down? The call returns an error instead of partial rows, and a retry later works once the archive is back. Whether a failed call counts against your monthly allowance is MCPize's metering, not something we control.
