Sky Watch answers the question an observer actually asks: what can I see from here, and when? It computes apparent positions of the planets, Sun, Moon and bright stars, rise/set/transit times, local sidereal time, Moon phase and moonrise/moonset, and predicts ISS and satellite passes from live CelesTrak orbital elements.
The tonight_sky_briefing tool answers the whole question in a single call: the astronomical darkness window for your location, how much the Moon will interfere, which planets are up and where to look, and the next ISS passes.
All calculations are deterministic and run server-side with PyEphem and Skyfield. No API keys, no third-party accounts.
